I remember those moments vividly which involved a sense of adventure and meant going beyond the boundaries specified by the parents or teachers. Going into the background, I completed most of my school time at Udaipur, also known as city of lakes, in Rajasthan. My school was part of trust made by ancestors of the king of Udaipur. It was located right beside the city palace. Our school corridor and building had so much history behind it. For some moments, I was transferred back to those good old days of freedom and carelessness.
Few of the adventurous incidents that immediately sprang up in my mind were exploring the dungeons of city hall, bicycling into an unknown stretch which was very close to a jungle, putting up a fight with strongest bully in the class. These experiences may look like bit too small an adventure. But, I did find my heart pumping in those moments.
The best moment in childhood is the one when I along with friends decided to go for bicycling in evening. It was around 4 PM. My friend knew about this place which was behind the army barracks. There was this small jungle just on the opposite side of the lake close to the city palace. We in school always wondered what it would look like to go on other side. On that day, it was an opportunity since we had cycles and my friend knew this place as well. The time was perfect for an adventure.
We started on this unknown stretch and kept on bicycling for around hour and half. During this period, we had reached definitely quite far away from the city. We enjoyed the way and stopped over a bridge for a while. During the conversation, it came up that our friend has never been here and only reason he brought us here was to see the place. Then, he told us that he didn’t know about the way back either. It was already quite late by then. For a while, we had hard time finding the way back and the trip become an adventure as we asked people on the way and finally made our way to home.
